The Stanfield Police Department is currently seeking applicants for a full-time patrol position. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, be of good moral character and have a current NC Basic Law Enforcement certification.
Duties include patrolling within the town to deter crime, enforcing traffic ordinances, responding to calls for service, assisting the public with concerns or questions, de-escalating volatile situations and hostile individuals, maintaining radio contact with local communications center, serving warrants, making arrests, assisting with special events, transporting prisoners to the county jail, preparing and maintaining required reports, attending court hearings to give testimony as needed and other duties as assigned.

A Stanfield Police Officer made a traffic stop last night due to a fictitious license plate. The driver, William Bullock who was found to be in possession of an illegal schedule 2 controlled substance was arrested after it was also discovered that he is wanted by multiple law enforcement agencies in the state of Virginia for the following outstanding warrants:
Driving while impaired
Bullock was booked in to the Stanly County Jail under a $90,000 secured bond.
