The Stanfield Police Department would like to make citizens aware of a few operational changes due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. First we are still operating 24/7 and are prepared to respond to any emergency calls. We are not allowing the public inside the police department building as we have limited cleaning supplies and staff. If you come to the police department we will meet you outside. We also request that if anyone just needs a question answered to call and leave a message if it's not an emergency and we will get back to you.
Also if a report can be taken over the phone instead of an officer responding in person that is the preferred method. It is our goal to only have to respond in person to an active crime in progress involving physical danger or loss/property damage. Our officers are and will continue to be on the road and they will enforce the laws, we are just simply trying to minimize as much physical contact as possible so that we are healthy and available when we are needed the most.
We also ask all citizens and businesses to obey the Governers State of Emergency Orders as well as any local municipal or county orders. Any violations observed will be documented and addressed accordingly.
For any would be criminals who may think this pandemic gives them an opportunity to commit crimes without consequences; the jail is still open for business so are we and we don't mind the drive.
We are all in this together so let's work with each other and come out on the other side of this as quickly, healthy, and safely as possible.
